Celebrating Abbeyfield's top scarecrow designs
See the winners of the Abbeyfield scarecrow competition! Residents from Westall House, Bramhall, and New Malden got creative, making everything from royal scarecrows to 'elderly crossing' designs.

Around the world in five days
Abbeyfield House, New Malden, celebrated a global Culture Week, exploring food and traditions from 11 nations, including Ukraine, Ghana, and Portugal, celebrating their diverse staff.

Staff celebrated for long service
Abbeyfield honoured long-serving staff, including six Hill House employees who reached a combined 143 years of service and Housekeeper Julie, who marked 20 years at Abbeyfield Westbury.

Abbeyfield houses visited by MPs for Starts at Home Day
Abbeyfield schemes across the country were visited by MPs for Starts at Home Day, enabling residents to share their experiences and advocate for the future of sheltered housing.

The great getaway: Abbeyfield on Tour
Abbeyfield on Tour was a summer competition where our houses celebrated different countries with themed food and activities. From a Caribbean day to a Brazilian feast, residents enjoyed a trip around the world. The Old Vicarage won the competition with their magnificent French-themed meal, making for a summer full of great memories.

Helping residents get online at Hope Bank View
Residents at Hope Bank View in Sunderland boosted their confidence using technology through a free, three-week digital skills course run by AbilityNet and sponsored by BT.

Mayor opens Halcyon House's renovated courtyard and new gardening club
Residents, staff, family, friends and community supporters gathered at Halcyon House on 11th August to celebrate the opening of a newly improved courtyard and new residents’ gardening club area.

60 seconds with Yvonne Wray
After nearly nine years, Carnarvon House Housekeeper, Yvonne, credits her job satisfaction to cooking for residents and providing care, stressing that empathy and a good sense of humour are vital for respecting the residents' home.
