Welcome to Abbeyfield House, Warkworth

Nestled in the heart of Warkworth, Abbeyfield House is a stunning listed building dating back to 1850 offering sheltered housing for older people. Originally an old vicarage, this historic house joined the Abbeyfield family in 1985. Over the years, the building has undergone renovations to include modern amenities such as en-suite bathrooms and a large laundry room.

Comfortable living in a sheltered community

Our nine en-suite flats provide a cosy and private space for residents to enjoy living independently. Personalise your room by bringing your favourite furniture, ornaments, and belongings to create a home that truly feels like yours.

A prime location

Abbeyfield House is conveniently located near shops, restaurants, pubs and attractions, including Warkworth Castle. A nearby bus stop provides easy access to Alnwick and other local destinations.

Peaceful surroundings and social activities

Our lovely quiet lounge offers stunning views of the river, providing a peaceful room for residents to relax and unwind. The surrounding gardens are perfect for taking a nice stroll or enjoying the sunshine.

We host a variety of social activities including social evenings and strawberry teas. Our monthly outings, organised by volunteers, are always a highlight for our residents.

Meet the team

I have been in post as a manager for 1 year. I have worked in the housing sector for 3 years and am passionate about creating a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment where residents feel comfortable, respected, and truly at home. I really enjoy working here because of the strong sense of community across the schemes and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents’ day-to-day lives.
