Located by the canal and surrounded by nature and stunning views, Abbeyfield House in Garstang was built in 1993 and opened by the Duke of Westminster.

The house has 11 ensuite rooms and one flat. We have a large communal lounge and dining area which are both homely and great places to enjoy some home cooked food and spend time together enjoying board games or just having a chat. We have recently had some refurbishment work done to the house with an extension to our dining room, which has been an exciting addition to the house.

We have bright well kept gardens surrounding the house with benches for you to sit and enjoy the views.

Garstang is a beautiful old market town and is known for its popular Scarecrow Festival, we were pleased to win first prize in the 2019 competition which meant a lot to our residents as they worked really hard on their project.

The house is in a central location with many cafes and restaurants nearby and we are within walking distance to shops and local amenities.

We have regular armchair exercises to help keep residents fit and healthy. Our residents enjoy spending time together, socialising in the lounge and playing board games. We hold Christmas parties which everyone enjoys getting to together to enjoy the celebrations.

Meet the team

I have worked for Abbeyfield for four years now and love making a positive difference to people’s lives. In my spare time I volunteer helping adults with autism learn independent life skills and I also help out with a literacy programme. In my spare time I spend as much time at the beach as possible and love camping.
