Surrounded by nature and overlooking the beautiful Lancaster canal, Abbeyfield House was built in 1993 and officially opened by the Duke of Westminster.

Comfortable rooms and spacious communal areas

Abbeyfield House offers comfortable rooms, which includes 11 en-suite rooms and one flat. Our spacious communal lounge and dining area provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for socialising and enjoying delicious home-cooked meals, or playing board games. We've recently had an extension on our dining room, adding more space for residents to gather and enjoy spending time together.

Our beautifully maintained garden provides a peaceful retreat, with benches for residents to sit back and admire the scenic views.

Garstang is a charming historic market town, renowned for its popular Scarecrow Festival. As a house, we're proud to have won first prize in the 2019 competition, a testament to the dedication and creativity of our residents.

Stay active and healthy

To promote and healthy and active lifestyle, we offer regular armchair exercise sessions, tailored to our residents' needs. The community of our house is built on social interactions, companionship and residents enjoying each other's company in the lounge, playing board games, and celebrating special occasions like Christmas together.

Meet the team

I have worked for Abbeyfield for four years now and love making a positive difference to people’s lives. In my spare time I volunteer helping adults with autism learn independent life skills and I also help out with a literacy programme. In my spare time I spend as much time at the beach as possible and love camping.
