Nestled just a short bus journey from Stockport town centre, Abbeyfield House offers sheltered housing for older people looking for a supportive community whilst maintaining their independence. Our two two-bedroom flats, 19 bedsits and one studio flat, provide a comfortable and welcoming home for residents to enjoy their later years to the full.

Personalised living spaces

Each room at Abbeyfield House is unfurnished, allowing you to personalise your space with your favourite belongings. Whether you want to redecorate or simply add your own touch, we encourage residents to make their rooms as comfortable and as welcoming as possible.

Shared spaces and activities

Our communal dining room, lounge and conservatory were renovated in 2017, offering stunning views of the garden and a variety of social activities. Enjoy home-cooked meals in the dining room, relax and socialise in the lounge, or unwind in the peaceful conservatory.

Community and engagement

At Abbeyfield House, we create a strong sense of community. Residents are encouraged to participate in weekly activities from bingo and quizzes to armchair exercises and baking. Our volunteers also host coffee mornings and welcome new activities from the local community.

Exploring Stockport and beyond

Abbeyfield House's location provides easy access to the best of Stockport and the surrounding area. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through Lyme Park, take a scenic boat trip on the Marple Canal, or attend a tea dance at Buxton Pavilion. Local shops, a GP, pharmacy, post office and dentist are within walking distance.

Delicious home-cooked meals

Our four-week rolling menu is tailored to residents' preferences and dietary needs. Enjoy home-cooked meals, including popular favourites like fish and chips, homemade pies and desserts. We serve two meals a day served in our communal dining room. Breakfast-making facilities in each room allow residents to start the day at their own pace.

A home for you and your loved ones

Abbeyfield House is more than just a place to live; it's a home. Friends and family are always welcome to visit and join you for meals. Our friendly and supportive staff are dedicated to providing a welcoming and comfortable home.

I have worked for Abbeyfield for four years now and love making a positive difference to people’s lives. In my spare time I spend as much time at the beach as possible with my dogs and love camping.
