Welcome to Middleton House

Situated in the desirable Wollaton area of Nottingham, opposite the breathtaking expanse of Wollaton Hall and Deer Park, Middleton House offers sheltered housing for older people looking for a retirement home with a supportive community where you can maintain your independence.

Supportive retirement living in Wollaton

Middleton House is a detached property built in 1935, with ten comfortable bedsits and a one-bedroom flat, which all have en-suite shower facilities. Our inviting communal lounge and dining room provide the perfect setting for socialising with other residents and enjoying delicious meals together. For added convenience, there are assisted bathing facilities and well-equipped kitchenettes on each floor, promoting independent living within our sheltered accommodation.

Relaxing gardens and outdoor space

Our beautiful gardens provide a peaceful place for residents to relax, enjoy the fresh air or tend to the flowerbeds.

Conveniently located near Nottingham city centre and local amenities

Local shops are within easy reach for everyday essentials, and regular bus services provide convenient access to Nottingham city centre. Explore the city's attractions, including Nottingham Castle and the historic Lace Market, or simply enjoy the diverse shopping and dining experiences on offer.

A welcoming community with engaging activities

At Middleton House, we believe in creating a strong sense of community within our sheltered housing scheme. Our popular "Sharing Sundays" offer a warm welcome to the local community, inviting them to join us for a delicious Sunday lunch and experience the friendly atmosphere of our home. We also host a variety of regular activities and events, including coffee mornings, outings, film nights, painting classes, beetle drives, and monthly Holy Communion services. Larger gatherings, such as summer BBQs and cream teas, are also organised throughout the year by our residents, dedicated staff, and valued volunteers.

Meet the team

I joined Abbeyfield in 2013 as a General Assistant, shortly after I took on the role as a Housekeeper and then Senior House Manager in 2017. I support four houses at Abbeyfield which I really enjoy as I have a lot of residents that I can spend time with. In my spare time I like to crochet or do some diamond painting and I love spending time with my family.

Joanne has been a valued member of the team for over 20 years. She is meticulous in her duties and takes pride in her job. She is always happy to support other staff members and the residents. She also has a great relationship with relatives, volunteers and other visitors to the house. Jo is enthusiastic and productive and you will not find a speck of dust when she is around.
