Welcome to Abbeyfield Winnersh

Experience the difference of dementia care at Abbeyfield Winnersh. Our innovative approach and friendly atmosphere create a welcoming home for residents and their families.

Our purpose-built dementia care home has 60 en-suite rooms featuring warm and bright décor, adaptive furniture, and ample space for personal belongings. Ground floor rooms have patio door access to safe and secure courtyard gardens. We encourage new residents to bring cherished items such as a favourite armchair, ornaments and photos to create a familiar and comfortable space.

Enjoy a wide variety of communal spaces, including a beauty salon, lounges, large dining room and even a cinema. Relax in our spacious, peaceful garden with a sensory area, rooftop terrace, and dedicated areas for activities and socialising.

Each room is en-suite with a wet room and shower, yet you also will discover separate spa-bathrooms with sensory lighting and the technology to play your favourite relaxing music.

Every space thoughtfully designed

We understand that a familiar environment can be crucial for individuals with dementia. Our home is designed to minimise confusion and promote a sense of wellbeing. Features like circular corridors, and each room having a brightly coloured front door complete with a letterbox, street lamp and memory boxes containing photos and cherished keepsakes. All these thoughtful features help residents navigate and recognise their surroundings.

Personalised dementia care

Our dedicated team of professionals has years of experience providing compassionate care for individuals with dementia. We understand the unique challenges and complexities of this condition and are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where residents can thrive.

We believe that each person with dementia is unique. That's why we develop personalised care plans tailored to your specific needs and preferences. Our approach focuses on maintaining your independence, promoting your dignity, and enhancing your quality of life.

Activities and events for everyone

From morning quizzes and exercise classes to visiting animals and musical entertainment, we offer a range of activities suitable for all interests and abilities. Whether you prefer a lively atmosphere or more quiet pursuits, there's something for everyone.

Outside we have two modern, well-equipped summerhouses, perfect for arts and crafts and various activities during the warmer months.
Whilst we encourage everyone to join in, we understand that some residents may wish to do their own activities or hobbies in a quieter space.

Delicious home-cooked meals

Savor delicious, freshly prepared meals twice daily freshly made by our chef and catering team, with residents helping decide on the menu. We celebrate special occasions with themed menus and offer hot drinks, snacks with delectable cakes throughout the day.
