Discover a comfortable and caring environment at Speedwell Court, a purpose-built Abbeyfield care home in Southampton. We offer exceptional residential care and specialised dementia care, tailored to your individual needs and wellbeing.

Your cosy retreat

Our spacious, furnished en-suite rooms boast calming décor and walk-in wet room bathrooms, creating a private and relaxing atmosphere. Generously sized, you can personalise your space with your favourite belongings.

A sense of community

Speedwell Court features 80 rooms spread across five comfortable households, each with 16 rooms. This creates a warm, homely and familiar setting with a strong sense of community. Each household offers shared living areas, including a lounge, sun terrace, dining suite, and spa bathroom with a Jacuzzi-jet bath.

Enjoy the best of both worlds: a peaceful setting in the West End of Eastleigh with easy access to major transportation hubs. Minutes from Southampton Airport and Eastleigh train station, you'll have direct connections to London, Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham. Southampton city centre is just five miles away.

A place to relax and connect

Participate in various activities like quizzes, reminiscing sessions, crafts, live music, and even visits from a local school. We have strong connections to the local community.

Our welcoming café is ideal for enjoying a coffee, pastry, or live music with friends and family. Relax in our tranquil, landscaped gardens with paved walkways, seating areas, and even resident chickens! Our organic vegetable plot, tended to by residents and volunteers, provides fresh produce for our delicious meals.

Residential care 

We support with all daily living tasks helping our residents get ready for their day ahead; washing, dressing, medication and an activity team in situ to keep residents entertained and engaged. Services and facilities include:

  • A personalised care plan is created for each resident
  • Two GP visits per week as well as daily visits from the district nurse team
  • Full profiling style hospital beds and airflow mattresses
  • Call bells to include wrist bands
  • Standing aid and hoist equipment for supporting mobility needs and double up assistance.

We are able to manage an array of care requirements.

Exceptional dementia care

We understand the unique needs of those living with dementia. Our highly trained staff create personalised care plans together with residents and their families, regularly reviewed to adapt to your changing needs. We are more than just a care home; we are a home that cares.

Join our community events for those living with dementia

Speedwell Court offers a variety of sessions and activities designed to provide support, advice, and a chance to connect with others. Many of these events are free and open to both residents and their caregivers. View our monthly activities booklet.

Delicious home-cooked meals

Our on-site chef and catering team prepare three nutritious and delicious meals daily, often using fresh produce straight from our kitchen garden. We cater to dietary requirements and individual preferences, even involving residents in seasonal menu planning.

What's around us?

Just across the road, you’ll find Haskins Garden Centre, ideally placed for supplies for our beautiful gardens and perfect to visit with a loved one to enjoy their seasonal variety and a bite to eat in their restaurant. 

Sports enthusiasts can rejoice! The home of the Southampton Saints is a short 10-minute drive away, and the Utilita Bowl Cricket Ground is even closer.

Respite care available

We offer respite stays for short-term support after hospitalisation or to provide a break for caregivers. Stays can be planned ahead or arranged last-minute for emergencies. Respite care can also introduce loved ones to long-term care at Speedwell Court.
